Sumario:The figure of Fulgencio Batista often sticks to his image as a dictator (1952-1958). However, behind his long life in cuban policy, from 1940 to 1944, we find another equally interesting and unknown facet, especially regarding to its relations with Madrid and his visible sympathy with the wandering Spain. Basically, this unusual link was mediated by outbreak of World War II and its alignement with pan-american strategies designed from United States in view of expansive threat of totalitarian regimes and the imperial wishes of Francisco Franco.
