These historical factors undoubtedly influenced the decisions and actions undertaken by teachers both in the province of Santa Fe and at national level. In this paper, we will focus on studying the conflicts between Asociación de Magisterio de Santa Fe and the governments as well as the actions taken from 1983 to 1989 by the teachers’ trade union against the educational policies. We are interested in analyzing the characteristics that discussions and conflicts had in such period, the different causes that mobilized teachers affiliated to AMSAFE, the channels of negotiation used as well as the main claims and requests made. We aim to detect the collective actions carried out by teachers to oppose ministerial policies and to infer the possible reasons for the conflictive processes occurring in the historical period under study.     El primer gobierno posdictadura y las asociaciones gremiales docentes configuraron agendas políticas y gremiales respectivamente, que estaban fuertemente condicionadas por el retorno a la democracia y las expectativas que se habían gestado en torno a ello. Estos condicionantes históricos, sin duda operaron en las decisiones y acciones que emprendieron los docentes tanto en la provincia de Santa Fe como a nivel nacional. En este trabajo nos centraremos en estudiar los conflictos y acciones gremiales frente a las políticas educativas que llevó adelante la Asociación del Magisterio de Santa Fe entre 1983 y 1989. Nos interesa analizar las características que asumieron las negociaciones y los conflictos en dicho período, las diferentes causas que movilizaron a los docentes nucleados en la AMSAFE, los canales de negociación utilizados, las principales reivindicaciones y reclamos que se plantearon. Nuestros objetivos apuntan a detectar las acciones colectivas llevadas a cabo por los docentes frente a las políticas ministeriales y conjeturar las posibles causas que explican los procesos de conflictividad que se manifestaron en el período histórico objeto de este trabajo.          Centro de Estudios Históricos Profesor Carlos S.
