Sumario:The public land question in Rio Negro has been analysed in order to the centrality roll given to the National State and the applications of the successive laws related with the public land distribution. The lack of studies related with the previous stages to the dessert campaign, the necessity of incorporating new focus and perspectives like the micro analysis for the different Rio Negro settlement, and the correct questions renewal that the historian wonder in order to the enrichment of the historical process comprehension appear today like the unresolved subjects in the Rio Negro history about the public land which is characterized by the academic lack of continuity in its production and the absence of integral focus for the treatment of the theme to the interior Rio Negro space and comparatively, whit the remaining southern territories.
