This was of SIAM Di Tella case, an emblematic enterprise of Argentina. However, the privatization couldn't take place during those years due to the multiple and crossed pressures imposed by the diverse military sectors enclosed also to different power redoubts. As from 1981, the macroeconomic crisis, the changes in the cabinet and the union pressures, turned infeasible the privatization project. The objective was finally achieved in the middle of the eighties after a process full of hesitations notably extended in the time, during a democratic government opposed to make any progress towards the then so called structural reforms but which undoubtedly had no capacity to promote the productive revitalization of SIAM. Leading enterprises in their respective sectors took over the principal plants of the firm and with the exception of the ex-SIAT disappeared as productive fields in the nineties. En la segunda mitad de la década del setenta el gobierno militar tomó la decisión de privatizar un conjunto de empresas que por distintas circunstancias habían quedado bajo su control. Este fue el caso de SIAM Di Tella, una empresa emblemática en la Argentina. Sin embargo, el proceso de privatización no pudo llevarse a cabo durante esos años dadas las múltiples presiones cruzadas de los diversos sectores militares enquistados a su vez en distintos reductos de poder. A partir de 1981, la crisis macroeconomica, los cambios de gabinete y las presiones sindicales tornaron inviable el proyecto privatizador. El objetivo se lograría a mediados de los años ochenta, después de un proceso de marchas y contramarchas notablemente extendido en el tiempo, durante un gobierno democrático que se oponía a avanzar hacia las luego llamadas reformas estructurales pero que indudablemente no tenía capacidad para impulsar la revitalización productiva de SIAM. Empresas líderes en sus respectivas áreas tomaron las principales plantas de la empresa y, con excepción de la ex-SIAT, desaparecieron como ámbitos productivos en los años noventa.
