But soon the undesired results of that modernization were present in the social and political discussions. So the elite produced some speeches and the main points were some new social actors in the public sphere. That speeches had an intention of reorganize the society since some ideal images and the good woman and the bad immigrant were the main points in them. In a prosperous nation, some women seems to be in the wrong way. We will intend to analyse what way adopted the elite speech that called the good woman and their actions and the different social actors answers in a town in the south frontier of the Buenos Aires Province (Tandil). A fines del siglo XIX Argentina asistió a un proceso de modernización económica y diversificación social que abrió camino a un conjunto de expectativas por parte de la elite gobernante. Sin embargo, pronto se pusieron de manifiesto en el centro de la discusión política y social los efectos no deseados de la modernización. Así el camino del "progreso" reelabora discursos que tendrán como eje a actores sociales que hasta entonces no habían tenido una presencia certera en la esfera pública. La buena mujer y el mal inmigrante serán los prototipos de un discurso que intentará reordenar una sociedad a partir de imágenes sociales ideales. Una construcción de la acción política dirigida principalmente a una mujer que parece desviarse del destino de una nación próspera. En este estudio se intenta ver particularmente en un pueblo de la frontera sur bonaerense (Tandil) qué formas adoptó finalmente desde la elite el discurso a la convocatoria de la "buena." mujer, así como las acciones de éstas y las respuestas de los distintos actores sociales.
