With the support of diverse contributions, productions and local testimonies, this work intends to recover the specific nature of the agricultural colonization development of Entre Ríos, showing the alternatives that had to be deviced to solve the different problems due to adverse circumstances that prevented the agricultural development in Entre Ríos, such as the former economic policies and the characteristics of its land, among other unfavorable factors. El proceso de colonización agrícola en la provincia de Entre Ríos, entre 1856 y 1895, fue uno de los más singulares y de avanzada. Escasamente abordado por el campo historiográfico nacional, perdió protagonismo en el debate histórico ante el dinámico desarrollo del proceso de colonización agrícola de Santa Fe y su ajuste al modelo agroexportador. Tomando como eje diversos y heterogéneos aportes, producciones y testimonios locales, este trabajo intenta rescatar la especificidad del proceso de colonización agrícola entrerriano, mostrando la serie de alternativas que debieron diseñarse para poder resolver los condicionantes que obstaculizaban el desarrollo agrícola en Entre Ríos, como la previa orientación económica, las características particulares del suelo, entre otros factores adversos.
