Sumario:This paper studies the construction, deconstruction and reconstruction of the concept of social citizenship in Argentina during the last two centuries. The main aim is to analyze the relationships built around this concept in order to go forward in the discussion about the conceptualization of the social reforms implemented in recent decades in the country. To this end, the characteristics of social policies adopted in five different periods of time have been explored. In particular, we have analyzed the changes in labor market conditions and the notion of citizenship in the past two decades given that both dimensions have experienced profound changes in the country.
