Sumario:This article argues that the topics of violence and war that can be found in Manuel Gálvez’s first essay, El Diario de Gabriel Quiroga, can be linked to the cultural milieu of the belle époque Europe and that they continued to be present in the writer’s thought. This could explain, at least partially, the intentions behind some of his later literary works and his inclinations towards fascism.
