Sumario:Argentine exports evidence a considerable growth between the last decades of the XIX Century and the beginning of the First World War. The years of the Great Expansion were characterized by a variety of raw material and food and the diversification of export destinies. This paper will center on the role of diplomacy in the promotion of goods and the creation of ties with different purchasers. Analyzing the consular reports to the central government will allow to typify the different strategies developed to extend trade relations. To do it so, the focus will be on the Memories of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, presented to the national Congress, and the yet unpublished Serie Diplomática y Consular of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Archive.
