| Sumario: | This paper studies a set of questionnaires and instructions issued by the Spanish crown during the 18th century which pursued the direction of the collecting and dispatching practices of American natural objects by the colonial authorities. These documents are characterized as a kind of administrative and scientific protocol related to the Natural history research of the colonies, they had the political power of the crown as a principal base. This paper ends with the study of three naturalist remissions from the Río de la Plata viceroyalty which are used as examples in order to illuminate the development of the collecting practices on ground. |
