This conception would be extensively accepted in both political and military science. Since the end of the cold war, a world order unified by capitalism and globalization was consolidated; however, this did not mean the end of armed conflagrations between nations. Paradoxically, in a model that promotes the idea of a global village, war continues to be a possibility in international relations. Therefore, the objective of this article is to investigate the validity of the clausewitzian conception of war as a continuation of political activity from the current world order. For this, certain notions presented by this author regarding some characteristics of the international system will be reviewed.
