Sumario:This paper presents the spatial analysis of the Greater Santa Fe urban area (AGSF) using the Space Syntax’s theoretical and methodological framework (Hillier, 2007), especially the Integration (NAIN) and Choice (NACH) variables, as well as their relationship with indicators of the social conditions, such as quality of life and accessibility to urban facilities, green areas and public transport. This approach is based on understanding that certain aspects of the urban environment such as mobility, land use and the formation of centralities, are fundamentally influenced by the configuration of space, that is, by the geometric and topological structure of the network that contains the activities; and that its properties can be analyzed and measured. The results show how the syntactic analysis allows to quantify and spatialize configurational accessibility conflicts of the urban structure, verifying the relationship of these results with the distribution of spatial competence values for each area, defined from urban quality of life standards. This confirms the advantages offered by the tool to characterize the urban structure of the defined area and explain certain urban phenomena from the spatial configuration point of view.
