She found in the world's first cartonera publishing house, Eloísa Cartonera, a way to bring together collective, cooperative and community interests of a cultural nature and with a social function. Eloísa Cartonera, with a cooperative profile, was created by Washington Cucurto and Javier Barilaro in Buenos Aires in 2003. As an extensionist program, its powerful intervention positions it as the only cartonera publishing house born in a public university, economically self-sustainable to materialize community projects of an artistic and literary nature. It involves university students, graduates and teachers from different academic units that focus on the development and continuous transformation of extension as a horizontal practice that enables the construction of links between the university and different social agents. El centro editor La Sofía Cartonera nació en el 2012, en la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba como programa de extensión universitaria coordinado por la docente e investigadora Cecilia Pacella. Encontró en la primera editorial cartonera del mundo, Eloísa Cartonera, una manera de confluir intereses colectivos, cooperativos y comunitarios de carácter cultural y con función social. La Eloísa Cartonera, de perfil cooperativista, fue creada por Washington Cucurto y Javier Barilaro en Buenos Aires en el 2003. Como programa extensionista, su pujante intervención la posiciona como la única editorial cartonera nacida en las mediaciones de una universidad estatal y que se autosustenta económicamente para materializar proyectos comunitarios de carácter artístico y literario. En él participan estudiantes universitarios, egresados y docentes de distintas unidades académicas que apuestan al desarrollo y transformación continua de la extensión en tanto práctica horizontal que posibilita la construcción de vínculos entre la universidad y diferentes agentes sociales.
