Sumario:The publishing center La Sofía Cartonera was born in 2012, in the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the National University of Córdoba as a university extension program coordinated by the professor and researcher, Cecilia Pacella. She found in the world's first cartonera publishing house, Eloísa Cartonera, a way to bring together collective, cooperative and community interests of a cultural nature and with a social function. Eloísa Cartonera, with a cooperative profile, was created by Washington Cucurto and Javier Barilaro in Buenos Aires in 2003. As an extensionist program, its powerful intervention positions it as the only cartonera publishing house born in a public university, economically self-sustainable to materialize community projects of an artistic and literary nature. It involves university students, graduates and teachers from different academic units that focus on the development and continuous transformation of extension as a horizontal practice that enables the construction of links between the university and different social agents.
