Sumario:The valle de Paravachasca is going through a process of territorial transformation affected by accumulation and expansion maneuvers that capital generates in this critical phase. The analysis focuses in the way in which the urban expansion that this territory experiences, reproduces the economic rationality of modernity, which founds the current extractivisms, and uses mechanisms constitutive of the reproduction and expansion of capital such as accumulation by dispossession. It is stated that the urban project in the region shares characteristics with extractivism schemes but, in this case, it appropriates values that are assigned to rural and natural resources, converting them into tradable values in the real estate market, and extracting them until they are vanished. At the same time, the dispossession occurred with diverse mechanisms, which caused the lands that were mostly in use by productive sectors to remain in the hands of real estate speculators. This transformation has important impacts on nature and on rural life in this territory suffering “deagrarianization”. But at the same time, a heterogeneous social fabric develops a process of "reagrarianization", in which food production and rural life are recreated with characteristics of agroecology.
