Written by the journalist Charlotte Beradt from the notes she took in Berlin between 1933 and 1939 on "the dream production of the inhabitants of the Third Reich" (9)–as Leandro Levi and Soledad Nívoli point out in the precise Prologue to the edition in Castilian-, the haphazard collection seemed to provide clues about totalitarian drift when still, in the waking or conscious life of Berliners, these manifestations were barely perceptible. This "dream archive" made up of dreams of ordinary people, neighbors, friends, colleagues and patients, neighborhood merchants, and relatives, survived thanks to masking and dissemination operations through letters sent across the ocean, which allowed Beradt to reconstruct them in this book first published in 1966 in German. El Tercer Reich de los sueños es, sin dudas, un libro singular y pertubador. Escrito por la periodista Charlotte Beradt a partir de las notas que tomó en Berlín entre 1933 y 1939 sobre “la producción onírica de los habitantes del Tercer Reich” (9)–como señalan Leandro Levi y Soledad Nívoli en el preciso Prólogo a la edición en castellano-, la azarosa recopilación parecía brindar pistas sobre la deriva totalitaria cuando todavía, en la vida despierta o consciente de las y los berlineses, estas manifestaciones eran apenas perceptibles. Este “archivo onírico” conformado por sueños de personas de a pie, vecinas, amigos, colegas y pacientes, comerciantes del barrio y familiares, sobrevivió gracias a operaciones de enmascaramiento y diseminación a través de cartas enviadas al otro lado del océano, que permitieron a Beradt reconstruirlos en este libro publicado por primera vez en 1966 en alemán. El Tercer Reich de los sueños é, sem dúvida, um livro singular e perturbador. Escrito pela jornalista Charlotte Beradt a partir das notas que ela tomou em Berlim entre 1933 e 1939 sobre "a produção dos sonhos dos habitantes do Terceiro Reich" - como Leandro Levi e Soledad Nívoli apontam no Prólogo preciso da edição espanhola -, a compilação casual parecia oferecer pistas sobre a deriva totalitária quando, na vida acordada ou consciente dos berlinenses, essas manifestações ainda eram pouco perceptíveis. Este "arquivo de sonhos" de pessoas comuns, vizinhos, amigos, colegas e pacientes, lojistas e parentes, sobreviveu graças a operações de mascaramento e divulgação através de cartas enviadas de um ao outro lado do oceano, o que permitiu a Beradt reconstruí-las neste livro, publicado pela primeira vez em 1966 em alemão.
