To do this, we propose a crossing of perspectives and paradigms. On the one hand, the historiography that questions the category, since it hides rather than reveals the dissimilar springs of Soviet life; on the other we will stop at the Arendtian figure of the detotalization of the Soviet Union after the death of Stalin. The crossing will allow us to explore the scope of the totalitarianism category and the drifts of detotalization, according to the suggestive hypothesis raised by Arendt. En este artículo presentamos algunas hipótesis tendientes a discutir la validez heurística de la categoría de totalitarismo para definir el régimen político soviético desde su inicio a su conclusión. Para ello, proponemos un cruce de perspectivas y paradigmas. Por un lado la historiografía que cuestiona la categoría, pues oculta antes que revela los disimiles resortes de la vida soviética; por el otro nos detendremos en la figura arendtiana de la destotalización de la Unión Soviética tras la muerte de Stalin. El cruce nos permitirá explorar los alcances de la categoría totalitarismo y las derivas de la destotalización, de acuerdo con la sugestiva hipótesis enarbolada por Arendt. Neste artigo apresentamos algumas hipóteses destinadas a discutir a validade heurística da categoria do totalitarismo para definir o regime político soviético desde seu início até sua conclusão. Para este fim, propomos um cruzamento de perspectivas e paradigmas. Por um lado, a historiografia que questiona essa categoria já que esconde em vez de revelar as dissemelhanças da vida soviética; por outro lado, vamos nos concentrar na figura da de-totalização da União Soviética após a morte de Stalin. O cruzamento nos permitirá explorar o alcance da categoria do totalitarismo e as derivas da de-totalização, de acordo com a hipótese sugestiva proposta por Arendt. Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.
