The increase in premature births, their neurodevelopment and also the quality of life through the use of the kangaroo mother method has increased and presents a challenge today. This is a skin-to-skin care model, with the aim of replacing incubators in developing countries, since it is an economical method and does not require sophisticated equipment. Objective: to explore the experiences of parents in the practice of kangaroo mother care in premature babies in the Intermediate Care Units of Private Clinics in the city of Córdoba. Methodology: qualitative study with a phenomenological approach that analyzed the experiences of the parents during the application of the Kangaroo Mother Method, semi-structured interviews were used until data saturation with 4 mothers of different ages. Result: two categories were obtained from the narratives, the first “Feelings and emotions in the practice of the kangaroo mother method” with happiness and fear as subcategories; and as a second category “Link in the practice of the kangaroo mother method” with attachment and benefits as subcategories. Discussion and conclusion: based on the lines selected as technical support and taking into account the results obtained and presented, it is possible to point out that there is progress in the kangaroo mother method and its application, as well as the importance in the neurodevelopment of premature babies. Although it is vitally important to highlight that there is an absence of knowledge regarding the feelings and emotions that parents go through when carrying out the practice, leaving the kangaroo mother method simply as a technical procedure to be performed and not giving importance to the psycho-emotional benefit that it provides. provides its application.

Introducción: informe parcial del proyecto de investigación “Vivencias de los padres en el acompañamiento del método madre canguro”. El incremento de los nacimientos prematuros, su neurodesarrollo y también la calidad de vida a través de la utilización del método madre canguro, se ha acrecentado y presenta un desafío en la actualidad. Este es un modelo de cuidados, piel con piel, con la finalidad de sustituir las incubadoras en los países en vías de desarrollo, ya que es un método económico y no requiere un equipo sofisticado. Objetivo: explorar las vivencias de los padres en la práctica del método madre canguro en bebés prematuros en las Unidades de Cuidados Intermedios de Clínicas Privadas de la ciudad de Córdoba. Metodología: estudio cualitativo con enfoque fenomenológico que analizó las vivencias de los padres durante la aplicación del Método Madre Canguro, se utilizaron entrevistas semi estructuradas hasta la saturación de datos a 4 madres de diferentes edades. Resultado: se obtuvieron de las narrativas dos categorías, la primera “Sentimientos y emociones en la práctica del método madre canguro” con felicidad y miedo como sub categorías; y como segunda categoría “Vínculo en la práctica del método madre canguro” con apego y beneficios como sub categorías. Discusión y conclusión: en función de las líneas seleccionadas como soporte técnico y teniendo en cuenta los resultados obtenidos y presentados, es posible señalar que existe el avance en el método madre canguro y su aplicación, como así también la importancia en el neurodesarrollo del prematuro, aunque es de vital importancia resaltar que existe la ausencia de conocimiento con respecto a los sentimientos y emociones que atraviesan los padres realizando la práctica, dejando al método madre canguro simplemente como un procedimiento técnico a realizar y no dándole la importancia al beneficio psico-emocional que brinda la aplicación del mismo.   Introdução: Relato parcial do projeto de pesquisa “Experiências de pais no apoio ao método mãe canguru”. O aumento dos nascimentos prematuros, do seu neurodesenvolvimento e também da qualidade de vida através da utilização do método mãe canguru aumentou e representa um desafio na atualidade. Trata-se de um modelo de cuidado pele a pele, com o objetivo de substituir as incubadoras nos países em desenvolvimento, por ser um método econômico e não necessitar de equipamentos sofisticados. Objetivo: explorar as experiências dos pais na prática do cuidado canguru em bebês prematuros nas Unidades de Cuidados Intermediários de Clínicas Privadas da cidade de Córdoba. Metodologia: estudo qualitativo com abordagem fenomenológica que analisou as vivências dos pais durante a aplicação do Método Mãe Canguru, foram utilizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas até a saturação dos dados com 4 mães de diferentes idades. Resultado: foram obtidas duas categorias das narrativas, a primeira “Sentimentos e emoções na prática do método mãe canguru” tendo como subcategorias felicidade e medo; e como segunda categoria “Vínculo na prática do método mãe canguru” tendo como subcategorias apego e benefícios. Discussão e conclusão: com base nas linhas selecionadas como suporte técnico e levando em consideração os resultados obtidos e apresentados, é possível apontar que há avanços no método mãe canguru e sua aplicação, bem como a importância no neurodesenvolvimento dos bebês prematuros.
