| Sumario: | Every 12th of May, the International Nurses Day is celebrated, which commemorates the birth of Florence Nightingale. The initiative comes from the International Council of Nurses (ICN), which distinguishes nurses’ contributions to each of the work areas. At the Nursing School of the School of Medical Sciences of the National University of Córdoba, an experience was carried out during five virtual interview meetings via the Instagram application. The meetings had the objective of becoming acquainted with the referents’ own meaning of being a nurse from their own voices in their own workspaces and throughout their careers. By expressing their motivations to choose the Nursing Licentiate Course, an expression of a significant caregiving experience emerges. As a part of the extensive careers of the protagonists of this experience, it is worth pointing out their work from a dimension that takes into account the implementation of gender-perspective policies at their workplaces. The experience leads to the conclusion that, in order for future generations to transmit values of equality, it is key to have a strong education in gender policies from the standpoint of a critical social paradigm that allows for the transmission of interest, of an analytical view, of deconstruction and of mobilization. |
