Sumario:Introduction pain is a problem that has been known since the beginning of time and hasbeen approached from different aspects, taking into account its social, political, biologicaland cultural context. The objective was to identify alternative therapies that are implementedas strategies for the management of chronic pain by patients in rehabilitation who attendA.P.PA.CE. in San Salvador de Jujuy in the period August – September 2019. Descriptive,cross-sectional study method. The universe consisted of a total of N = 156 patients. The nonprobabilistic sample, selected by criteria and availability, was made up of n = 46 patients whowere attending the comprehensive pain management program. Primary source, technique wasthe survey with semi-structured and open questions. The variable dimensions were: naturalproducts, mind-body medicine, manipulative and body-based practice and other practices.Results the sample was made up of 55.5% women and 45.5% men. In the first age group +50the highest percentage is concentrated followed by (31-40) 26%, followed by the group of(41-50) with 20% and finally (20-30 years) with 17%. In the first dimension, the use of naturalproducts for pain management, it was observed that the therapy based on “extracts or fractions”(59%) is the most used. In the mind-body medicine dimension, one-third turned to yoga (28%).In the manipulation and body-based practices dimension, it was therapeutic massage (24%)and in other practices, energy field therapy with 30%. Conclusions having analyzed the results,it can be pointed out that the use of alternative therapies in addition to the indicated medicaltreatments; most patients use more than one alternative therapy to address their chronic pain
