Sumario:This work aims to explore the production of the subject of disability in the neoliberal context, based on the analysis of the Argentine series División Palermo. This addresses the formation of an “inclusive” and “diverse” urban neighborhood guard made up of people who represent “social minorities”: a blind person, a woman who uses a wheelchair, a racialized immigrant, a man with achondroplasia, among others. However, the guard has been created as a marketing operation to improve the image of the security forces. Addressing this series allows us to maintain that the production of the subject of disability is not only crossed by ableist normality (Campbell, 2008a y 2008b), but also by the emergence of neoliberal rationality that takes precariousness as a form of government (Lorey, 2016). Among the effects of this articulation, we recognize the meritocratic and heroic discourse on the subject of disability, victimization and self-improvement; condescension and spectacularization.
