Sumario:This article deals with the 1968 student movement at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS). Rather than describing the central actions of the struggle led by the National Strike Council, it is an attempt to explain the institutional repercussions caused by the protest of university youth at UAS. The effects resulted from the confrontation between a higher education institution on strikein favor of the struggle of those who led the Pliego Petitorio of the six points with the government authorities and had as a central scenario the organs of power of the universities. In this sense, this text highlights mainly how the University Council, the governing body of the UAS, faced, deliberated and agreed on the consequences caused internally by the mobilization of young people in favor of civil liberties in Mexico.
