The selection of dates is due to the fiscal foundation of the Lasallian publishing house Enseñanza and the publication in 1989 of the Letter to the Lasallian Family. The latter is important because it is linked to the discussions and reflections that the de la Salle religious held on the need to train their laity. The civicpolitical formation was a fundamental aspect of these ideas, so this circumstance defined the closing ofthe time frame. Methodologically, aspects of Fairclough’s three-dimensional model are taken up for the textbook revision. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the history and the heroes of these books are tools to form virtue and elements in accordance with the conservative historiography in Mexico.
