Since then, it has kept its historical and artistic heritage and is open to public survey through the Historical Archive and Museum “Dr Arturo Jauretche”. Both its collection of documents dating from the XIII century to present times, and its specialized in banking topics library, make this museum one the most important sources of our economic history. El Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, fundado en 1822 es el primer banco hispanoamericano y se ha mantenido en operaciones durante 190 años constituyendo un pilar del desarrollo económico de Argentina. Emisor de billetes y monedas durante más de setenta años, creó su archivo histórico en 1903. Desde entonces conserva su patrimonio histórico y artístico y lo mantiene abierto a la consulta pública a través de su Archivo y Museo Históricos “Dr. Arturo Jauretche”. Sus fondos documentales que se inician con material del siglo XVIII y su biblioteca especializada en temas bancarios conforman uno de los principales reservorios de nuestra historia económica.
