Sumario:The aim of this paper it to analyse the possibilities that epistolary archives offers for the study of the Argentinean's archaeological practices during the first half of the XXth century. The analysis of letters from personal, municipal archives and university museums shows that there was a great interchange between different actors and that the archaeology requested the active participation of scientists vocational in the sites localization as well as in the sending of materials and information. Also, from the epistolary exchange analysis it could be described the kind of relations set among amateurs and between them and the university professors.
