The aim is to expose the possible lines of investigation opened by the work with this kind of material; specially, the additional potential that they represent for the gender studies analysis. En el presente artículo se intenta revisar las especificidades metodológicas del trabajo con fuentes fotográficas, tomando como caso la cobertura fotoperiodística de una huelga obrera en la fábrica textil Alpargatas, en el barrio porteño de Barracas, en Abril de 1979. El objetivo es exponer las líneas de análisis posibles que abre el trabajo con este tipo de fuentes; en especial, el potencial adicional que las mismas representan para las investigaciones con perspectiva de género.
