Sumario:In this article we analyze the documentary sources and archives for the study of the city of Corrientes duringthe colonial period. These documents are numerous and heterogeneous, and most of them are located inthe “Archivo General de la Provincia de Corrientes”. However, many others are scattered in other nationaland foreign archives and published or unpublished books. We will not make a simple numbering of theexisting documents. We analyze in each case the documentary type, its location and the topics that canbe analyzed from the data provided to us. The work is divided according to the classification of sources infour large groups. The first group compound of chronicles, reports and relations of travelers. The secondgroup exposes the documents of “Archivo General de la Provincia de Corrientes”. The third group includesdocuments from other national and foreign archives; And the fourth group comprises the parochial sources.
