Morones fue uno de los políticos más destacados en México durante los años posteriores al conflicto revolucionario de 1910. Fundó y dirigió una de las primeras organizaciones sindicales de la historia mexicana, la Confederación Regional Obrera de México (CROM). Además, fue miembro del gabinete del Presidente Plutarco Elías Calles (1924-1928). A lo largo de su trayectoria pública integró un archivo con documentos que contienen información relevante de la política mexicana del periodo comprendido entre 1910 y 1940. El texto que se presenta, además de integrar una semblanza de Morones, busca dar a conocer el fondo que lleva su nombre y se encuentra bajo el resguardo de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, México.
