Sumario:This article gives a brief description of the documentary collection of the General Archive of the Province of Corrientes. It was formed primarily as a result of the administrative work of the authorities of the district from the end of the 16th century until the first decades of the 20th century. Its largest documentary volume corresponds to the last decades of the colonial era and to the independent period prior to the National Organization. For the Northeast region this archive has an exceptional value since in addition to the information linked to the evolution of Corrientes it contains important data on the neighboring areas, Chaco and Misiones, which did not form a state structure until the end of the 19th century.
