Sumario:Quebrada Norte 7 is the first openairsite identified in the Sierras delNorte corresponding to the LatePre-Hispanic Period (ca.1550-400A.D.). Our work aims to contributeto the knowledge of social practicesfrom the analysis of the domesticcontext of lithic materiality. Lithictechnology is a total social phenomenon, which actively intervenesin the daily practices of groups. Inthis way, a series of technologicalchoices related to socially and historicallysituated know-how are putinto practice. Preliminary analysesindicate the later stages of artifact production, this implies that therewas an articulation between thequarries, where the first stages ofconfection were carried out, andthe residential site. In general, theartifacts were made from local rawmaterials and there is no differentiationbetween the raw materials used(quartz, silica, and quartzite) andthe instruments. Therefore, we donot identify a differential exploitationof raw materials. The analysiscarried out on lithic assemblageallows us to suggest that it activelyparticipated significantly in socialreproduction such as hunting, processingfood, manufacturing artifacts, etc. Therefore, the presence oflithic material at the QN7 site accountsfor a production integratedinto the daily life of the practices.
