Este breve trabajo aspira a establecer definitivamente la correcta escritura del apellido de quien fuera proyectista y director de las Obras de Riego de los Altos de Córdoba, obra hidráulica fundamental en la historia de la provincia en cuanto a regulación de crecientes, provisión de agua y electricidad, formación del cinturón verde y desarrollo turístico. Acompañando a una sintética biografía del ingeniero Carlos Adolfo Casaffousth se irán exponiendo las distintas fuentes en que nos fundamentamos para zanjar definitivamente una cuestión que sigue generando errores al nominar los sitios con los que se decide homenajearlo, sean calles, estaciones de ferrocarril, puentes o colegios.
