One of the objectives was to implement an environmental balance of the reserve, for which it was necessary to prepare an environmental assessment of the environmental assets that comprise it. The environmental balance is presented as an internal and external database instrument for decision-making as well as for structuring the environmental reserve´s assets and establishing their current state, which makes it possible to detect in successive records their alteration, conservation, rehabilitation, or loss, among other things. As a management tool, the inventory provides complete and orderly information for the prevention, conservation and sustainability of the nature reserve. En este trabajo, se presenta un avance del proyecto de investigación sobre cuentas y contabilidad ambientales aplicables a una reserva natural público-privada, en el que se incluye la elaboración de un Inventario Ambiental como insumo de dichas cuentas. Entre los objetivos se encuentra el implementar un balance ambiental de la reserva, para lo cual fue necesario elaborar un inventario ambiental de los bienes que la integran. El balance ambiental se presenta como herramienta de base informativa interna y externa para la toma de decisiones y para estructurar los bienes con que cuenta la Reserva, estableciendo también en qué estado éstos se encuentran en un momento dado, lo que permite detectar, en sucesivos registros, su alteración, conservación, rehabilitación, o pérdida, entre otros. Este tipo de inventario aporta información completa y ordenada como herramienta de la gestión ambiental para la prevención y conservación como objetivos de sustentabilidad de la reserva natural.
