| Sumario: | This paper aims to provide a series of elements for the knowledge of the mechanisms and instruments used to control mechanisms and instruments used for the control of readings in the libraries of "la docta" during the recent past. We consider of vital importance to unveil the importance to unveil the performance of our libraries during the State terrorism in Argentina, marked by the systematic violation of human rights.
Some cases of censorship in different types of libraries are presented: university, public, school and popular libraries, and two of the public burnings of "banned books" carried out in Cordoba are also included. public burnings of "forbidden books" in Cordoba, a pyromaniac practice that was later reproduced in many cities in Argentina and abroad. that would later be reproduced in numerous cities in Argentina and the America.
For this purpose, this work is based on several sources: testimonies of library directors and managers who served in those years, archives library directors and managers who worked in those years; photographic and filmic archives of book photographic and filmic archives of book burnings and records of banned books; and institutional documents such as dean's resolutions, school resolutions and regulatory and school resolutions and regulatory notes from the period in question. |
