Sumario:Research carried out in recent years had generated new information about the characteristics adopted by the occupation of southern Pozuelos (Puna de Jujuy, Argentina) during pre-Hispanic and colonial times. As in the rest of the Argentine Northwest, the impact of the Spanish conquest produced important changes in local populations. Mining acquired an enormous relevance in relation to pre-Hispanic times, causing the emergence of villages and towns in uninhabited areas. Instead, other practices that had reachedgreat importance during Inca times in southern Pozuelos (such as agriculture), lost their relevance locally. However, despite the changes since the arrival of the frst Europeans to the region, there is evidence that in rural areas certain aspects of the lifestyles of its inhabitants were maintained with few changes during long time. In this paper we present various aspects about agricultural technology used in a small archaeological site built during pre-Hispanic times and reoccupied during the Colonial Period: Chajarahuayco 25 .
