Sumario:In the archaeological record, the native societies appear to be represented, for the moment native-spanish contact, with different subsistence strategies and social complexity. Towards the end of the Holocene, in moments of the constitution of the Argentinian Republic State, the original peoples of the pampas formerly related to the hunting of native species, were then linked with introduced fauna, such as horses, cows and sheep cattle, in different ways.In particular, the occupations of the site Gascón 1 have shown management of different animal resources, showing elements of introduced species in association with human bone record. These elements might have served as prestige elements and indicators of differential status. This paper discusses the utilization of animal species in the ÁreaEcotonalHúmedo-Seca Pampeana for historical moments.
