Sumario:The aim of this paper is studying some of the processes that affected the faunal remains recovered from San Vicente 1 excavation. The archaeological site is located within the foundation area of San Vicente district, in front of the local cemetery. The faunal remains were dated in the early twentieth century. The bones exhibit evidence of rapid burial, but natural and cultural processes have affected the samples. These reflect a high fragmentation degree. The expansion of the samples and the development of other lines of study, such as the approach of written documents, help to evaluate the potential of archaeological material recovered in the area.
