| Sumario: | This paper will present the discussion of the social and political conditions within the territory of the state of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and their effects within the archeology of that country. This is not the first work on the history of archeology in Israel from a critical point of view, however our objective is to analyze the different archaeological schools within the framework of the history of the region the state of Israel and the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza from the 19th century to the present. The aim of this paper is also to suggest new possible developments for the archeology of the southern Levant from the point of view of archaeologists working within.
