Sumario:In this paper, are presented the results obtained from several archaeological field works that involved prospecting and excavations of sites located in Guayascate, Córdoba, Argentina. The objective that is pursued is to recognize the settlement and subsistence systems that were implements by the native groups that inhabited the northern of Sierras of Córdoba to expand the information on late pre-Hispanic societies. Likewise, to advance in the knowledge about the restructuring that occurred after the arrival of the Spaniards to the region, which led to changes in the ways of life on the natives. The data obtained so far allowed glimpse that Guayascate groups would had reproduced the characteristics of the late Sierras Centrales societies. During the colony, several changes are evident, mainly in subsistence that must have influenced the form of cultural reproduction.
