Sumario:In this report we address the deterioration processes of iron archaeological artifacts in marine and fluvial-marine environments. Said study will allow us to understand the formation processes of the underwater record and to consider the archaeological potential of the site in relation to its particular characteristics, as well as the methodology that should be used in each case during the planning of the preventive conservation of pieces and their later treatment and study in the laboratory.During the course of the work we analyze a set of concretions formed around iron artifacts recovered from a Dutch shipwreck of 17th century in Puerto Deseado, Province of Santa Cruz. We present the results of the methodology applied in the site and during the treatment of the pieces, which were subject of a casting process with resins for its later study.
