Sumario:Iconographic circulation during the Late Prehispanic period in the Circumpuna Area has been discussed under different models. These have attempted to explain this form of communication through visual symbols as part of the development of various traffic and interaction routes. Following up on this subject, we analyze the iconography present on a pyroengraved gourd found in the archaeological site of Los Viscos, a rockshelter located in the Bolsón Valley (Belén, Catamarca). In addition to this analysis, we compare patterns of representation of the human image on artifacts from various archaeological contexts, probably related by exchange networks. Building on this information, we discuss the role of Los Viscos at the regional interaction scale and contribute new data to the debate on the significance of caravan trade during the RegionalDevelopments period.
