| Sumario: | This paper analyses the skeletal preservation in a sample of 42 individuals (fetuses and perinates) from the Prof. Dr. Rómulo Lambre Collection (National University of La Plata). The remains were provided by the La Plata County Cemetery. We quantified skeletal parts to identify which are better represented in the sample. Also, we selected a number of bones that can be used for age diagnosis in order to assess those best preserved for morphometric analysis. In addition, the conditions in which the remains were obtained and the relation with individual preservation are assessed. The causes of scarcity of subadult skeletal remains in archaeological collections are discussed. |
