Sumario:We performed a revision of the archaeofaunistic remains from Villa La Punta “Guayacan” site (Santiago del Estero) in order to reduce the error of the taxonomic determination by the addition of specimens to the reference collection and the mechanical refitting of bone specimens. We compared the results of our revision with the preliminary analysis. We observed an increase in the number of identified especimens. Moreover, we tested previous inferences made on the subsistence of the ancient inhabitants of the site from relative abundance indexes. From this analysis we obtained a new interpretation on the importance that had different resources, especially Dolichotinae rodents.
