Sumario:The results and deductions arising from the research done in Peñas de la Cruz 1 site, in Antofagasta de la Sierra, Province of Catamarca, in the southern Argentine Puna are presented. Hunting technology is discussed on the basis of the findings at this site that is dated to the initial Middle Holocene, ca. 7900 - 7200 years BP. The very dry climate conditions of this environment played a fundamental part in preserving the organic remains recovered in a good state of integrity, like some woody foreshafts, thin ropes, leathers, bone remains, lots of gramineous and general artefacts.
