In those records some aspectscan be related with the notion of “mala vida”that included behaviors considered dangerousbetween the crime and the madness and waslinked with categories of the criminalpsychopathological discipline that wasinitiated in Argentina by José Ingenieros. Forthat purpose we will describe the historicalcontext of the emergence of the notion of“mala vida” in this period, aspects of prisonand theoretical models that converged on thesubject. In addition, we will refer to thejournal Archives, the National Penitentiary, thefunctions of the Institute of Criminology, and,finally, the medical records.
