This neighborhood is located in the southeast of Córdoba city. It is settled on lands which were used for soybean production up until 2002 and fumigated with agrotoxins since the 1940’s. In 2001 the local government declared it a Health Emergency Zone, which represented the starting point for a series of state and civil society interventions aiming to identify and characterize the pollution present in the area and reduce its impact on human health. The experience began in 2015 with a pre-professional practice process and continued during 2016 and 2017 as part of the University Extension Program. Hereby we present the community experiences of dispute of meanings related to environmental pollution and of politicization of the issue, as well as the socio-demographic survey processes on the population and epidemiological surveillance around the pathologies identified as tracers associated with the exposure to agrotoxins. El objetivo del artículo es sistematizar la experiencia de intervención en el Centro de Salud N° 90, en B° Ituzaingó Anexo, entre los años 2015 y 2017. El barrio se ubica en la zona sureste de la ciudad de Córdoba. Está asentado sobre terrenos que, hasta el año 2002, fueron utilizados para la producción de soja y fumigados con agrotóxicos. Fue declarado Zona de Emergencia Sanitaria en el año 2001 por la Municipalidad de Córdoba. Este fue el punto de partida para una serie de intervenciones estatales y de la sociedad civil orientadas a identificar, caracterizar y modificar la situación de contaminación de la zona y su impacto en la salud. La experiencia de intervención comenzó en el año 2015 con un proceso de práctica pre profesional y continuó durante el 2016 y 2017 a través de una beca de la Secretaría de Extensión Universitaria de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Se retoman aquí las experiencias comunitarias de disputa de sentidos en torno a la contaminación ambiental, como así también los procesos de relevamientos socio demográficos y vigilancia epidemiológica en vinculación a la exposición a agrotóxicos.
