description The following work is an approach to the way militancy and social struggles are intertwined in Neuquén (Argentina) during the ‘80s. Three social actors were inquired by means of interviews and unpublished documents: Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, activists connected to the Church of Neuquén and members of the Chilean community living in Neuquén. This work seeks to characterize the period, marked by the so called “transition to democracy” and to show the particularities in relation to forms of collective action, prelude to the unsettled ‘90s in the region.
