In particular, we study the deliberative model of Gutmann and Thompson, whose work has revived the interest for discussion and made a major contribution to political theory. La primera parte de este trabajo reproduce algunos de los problemas que las exigencias del principio de responsabilidad presentan para un sistema democrático representativo de gobierno, haciendo hincapié en la solución ofrecida por el sistema de responsabilidad electoral. La segunda parte, analiza las soluciones propuestas por el modelo de democracia deliberativa a estos problemas, señalando los puntos relevantes de esta teoría. En particular, se estudia el modelo deliberativo de Gutmann y Thompson, cuya obra ha revitalizado el interés por la deliberación y realizado una importante contribución a la teoría política.
