Therefore, the namelessness disease presented in the novel —the aesthetics of the void that it supposes— is explored through a literary series that exposes the echo of the neo-baroque in Bellatin's work. Faced with this, the text proposes to question the way in which the Salón de belleza uses the neo-baroque as a strategic ally to establish a counterpoint against the rhetoric of AIDS and, in the same movement, distance itself from it, marking an aesthetic of differential emptiness. El artículo se propone interrogar la enfermedad presente en Salón de belleza (1993) de Mario Bellatin desde una perspectiva genealógica, diferente de las lecturas alegóricas, temáticas y biopolíticas. Se explora, por consiguiente, la falta de nombre de la enfermedad tratada en la novela –la estética del vacío que supone– a través de una serie literaria que expone el eco del neobarroco en la obra de Bellatin. Frente a eso, el texto se propone interrogar la manera en que Salón de belleza utiliza el neobarroco como aliado estratégico para establecer un contrapunto contra las retóricas de sida y, en el mismo movimiento, distanciarse de él marcando una estética del vacío diferencial.
