During her unjust imprisonment, Nora recapitulates her life to elucidate the reason for her confinement and thus uncover the fraud she was a victim of. The objectives of the present work are twofold: the first one, of a historical-political nature, consists in pointing out how the physical conditioning suffered by the character allows the author to describe aspects and characteristics of Argentine immigration policy in the middle of the twentieth century. The second, of a philosophical-literary nature, is to analyze the existential evolution of Nora Candiani. The main hypothesis that guides this work is that the particular “incarnation” or corporeality of the narrator excludes her from certain sectors of human experience, thus conditioning her entire existence.
