Thus, the inclusion of video games and virtual worlds in the educational context represents a qualitative leap that claims to significantly boost the ways of communication and knowledge representation of the scenarios involved. In the frame of MPEMT and quite conscious of reality, a virtual seminar was organized for students to approach this issue on the grounds of lectures given by worldwide recognized experts. The format chosen for the seminar allowed the treatment of subject matters not only through reading assignments and web quests to be collaboratively discussed but also included  state-of-the-art experience of developers working in the field. Las posibilidades educativas que generan las TIC actualmente, crecen vertiginosa y exponencialmente día a día, ofreciendo múltiples alternativas de mediación para los procesos de enseñanza, aprendizaje y comunicación. Así, la irrupción manifiesta de los videojuegos y mundos virtuales en el contexto educativo, supone un salto cualitativo que aduce potenciar significativamente los modos de comunicación y representación del conocimiento de los escenarios involucrados.Atentos a esta realidad manifiesta, en el marco de la Maestría en Procesos Educativos mediados por Tecnologías, se organizó un seminario virtual ofrecido a sus alumnos a fin de abordar la temática sobre la base del discurso de reconocidos expertos a nivel mundial; entendiendo que esta decisión materializa el tratamiento de la temática no sólo desde el contenido provisto para debatir colaborativamente sino también desde la propia experiencia de los desarrolladores. De esta forma, la presente publicación, relata los aspectos centrales recogidos en la edición de dicho seminario.
